FEMA closing disaster recovery center

RANTOUL -- FEMA has announced the Disaster Recovery Center, at the Rantoul Recreation Building, in the 100-block of East Flessner, will close Saturday, December 21, at 8 pm.

After that date, survivors of last month's tornado can get help and information by contacting the FEMA helpline. Applicants should contact FEMA if their mailing address, phone number or email address changes, or if they receive an insurance settlement or discover additional damage.

Disaster Recovery Centers at the Brookport Library and the East Peoria Festival of Lights will close on Sundays, starting this weekend. Those centers will continue serving their communities Monday - Saturday, 8 am - 7 pm.

Holiday hours for Tuesday, December 24 are 8 am - Noon, and Thursday, December 26, 12:30 - 7 pm. The centers will be closed Christmas Day.
