ILLINOIS (WCIA) -- Spring is getting closer and the state is trying to help its farmers get prepared for the upcoming season.
The Illinois Department of Agriculture and the Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association are partnering to give safety classes for using a dangerous fertilizer.
Anhydrous ammonia is used to provide nitrogen to wheat and corn, but is a hazardous chemical and has to be used a certain way. The traveling safety classes begin at the end of the month.
