CHICAGO -- The Chicago International Film Festival kicked off the weekend with a tribute to one of the country's most beloved film critics. It honored Roger Ebert Thursday night.

All of the festivities were dedicated to Ebert, who was affiliated with the festival before his death. He died in April after a long battle with cancer. His wife, Chaz, attended the festival.
