MACON COUNTY -- The sheriff will have to wait before getting a raise. Monday night, the Board Finance Committee voted not to increase his salary.

The plan must be approved there before it can be considered by the full county board. It would have increased his salary by 11% starting in 2014, and then by 3% each of the following three fiscal years.
