Flider was also chairman of the House Electric Generation and Commerce Committee and vice-chairman of the House Renewable Energy Committee. In 2004, the Illinois Farm Bureau named him "Agriculture Certified Legislator," and "Friend of Agriculture" in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
Quinn says Flider is equipped with management, agriculture and economic development experiences. Since March 2011, he's been director of Broadband Impact at the non-profit Partnership for a Connected Illinois. He also serves on the board of directors for United Way of Illinois and is an associate member of the Macon County Farm Bureau.
