CHAMPAIGN -- Keeping guns out of the wrong hands was part of the discussion for WCIA-3's Concealed-Carry Forum. Dozens showed up to the town hall event at Parkland College Tuesday night.

The Champaign County Sheriff and State's Attorney were just a few guests on hand to answer questions. Many were curious how the new law will affect businesses. Some wanted to learn more about the training required to secure a permit.

To get a concealed-carry permit, you must be 21-years of age or older, have a FOID card, take 18-hours of training and pass a background check. Lawmakers in Springfield were also part of the special event providing insight into their debate.
