Traffic was one of the main reasons organizers say they wanted to bring the festivities back to campus in the first place. There's a lot more room to roam in campustown, it's a little easier to get around and there are more places to park.
Some roads near the main stage were blocked off to traffic so people had to walk a bit to get there, but people say they were excited to get a better view than they have in the past. The music and activities started around 7 pm.
People got to dance and sing along with the band. After it was all over, certain roads were rerouted to keep traffic flowing away from campus.
The reason the fireworks had to move years ago was because of construction at Memorial Stadium. But organizers say they plan to have it on campus from now on.
