URBANA -- It was a team effort by firefighters and police to rescue a 9-month old puppy. It was a difficult 12 hours for the owner.

They say a dog is man's best friend. Thanks to a dramatic rescue by firefighters, Storm is back at home with his best friend.

Storm is a boxer-dingo mix. His owner, John Steinback, says he went missing about 10 pm Sunday. Police found Storm in Boneyard Creek.

Crews lowered a ladder and hoisted the dog to safety. Minutes later, he was reunited with his owner.

Steinbeck just got Storm from the Humane Society about two weeks ago. He's doing fine. He just needed a little food, a bath and cozy bed to sleep in.
