It started out as a project to help beautify eye sores around downtown.

Ten murals were painted by Wall Dogs, a group of international artists. The name may sound familiar, they were in Danville last summer.

Each design tells a different story about the town's heritage.

"One thing that we noticed during the course of the mural project itself and the creation of these things is we discovered stories and the general public here discovered stories they were not that well aware of," said Judy Tighe with the Jacksonville Main Street Organization.

It took the artists less than a week to finish all of the murals.
