Fundraiser puts fire under runners

SPRINGFIELD -- Police from around the state are hitting the pavement for a good cause. The Law Enforcement Torch Run made a stop in Springfield.

These runners are raising money for Illinois Special Olympics. They ran here all the way from Gillespie and are heading to Normal. One officer admits it's exhausting, but fun.

The group is taking off from the Capitol about 8 am, Thursday. People are encouraged to come out and show support. Last year, state troopers raised more than $50,000 in the Torch Run for Special Olympics.
