CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- The cheaper, the better is true when discussing gas prices. A drop in prices is bringing people to the pumps in droves.
It's under $3/gallon in Champaign. Thornton's, on Mattis, is $2.97, Schnuck's is $2.98.
It's the first time in three years. Most people say, compared to prices this summer, they're now saving about $10 - $15.
Some analysts believe oil prices will drop even more, which means gas could go down another 10 - 15 cents a gallon between now and the end of the year.
CHAMPAIGN -- There's a good reason gas stations were busy Wednesday. Prices are below $3/gallon for the first time in three years. Analysts attribute the drop to a reduction in crude oil prices.
