URBANA -- Thursday night, city officials and homeowners met to rally against Carle Hospital. They say Carle benefits from city services and it should have to pay for them. Property taxes have shot up by ten percent since Carle stopped having to contribute.

No one at the meeting spoke to defend Carle. The group plans to lobby and educate others in the community to get something done. The city is challenging the law which lets Carle pay very little.
