Hate Crime Charges Filed in Attack

SPRINGFIELD -- Two teens are charged with a hate crime after police say they assaulted a custodian at a Springfield High School. 18-year olds Robert Hunt and Anthony Ishmael were arrested last month.     Police say the men yelled racial slurs at a black custodian who was salting the parking lot. The men and a third suspect then allegedly attacked the victim.
He was able to scare them off when he pulled a pocketknife out for protection. Both suspects are being held at the Sangamon County Jail.
