SPRINGFIELD -- From documentaries to websites to live performances and exhibits, students participating in the Annual History Expo displayed their research projects Thursday. About 1,200 students showed for the competition. 150 schools were represented. Each one researched a topic of its own interest.

Students had to first qualify through a regional competition. Some of their projects have been months in the making. Winners from the competition will go onto Washington for the National History Day Competition.
