CHAMPAIGN -- Millions of people are hitting the roads this weekend to celebrate Labor Day. AAA estimates more than 34 million people will travel at least 50 miles for the holiday. That's the highest number of people traveling since the recession hit.

Most people are road-tripping in their own cars. But some say they're not going anywhere.

"It's the last holiday of the summer and I think you're supposed to relax on Labor Day," said Antonio Leach, of Champaign. "Labor Day is one of the only days you're allowed to be lazy."

Some drivers told us they're just too busy to travel. Others say gas is still too expensive and they can't afford the trip, but for people who did hit the road, most are expected to head home Monday.
