Homeowner falls for scam

MACON COUNTY -- An alleged scammer faces charges, but he almost got away with the ruse twice. Police say, in May, Joseph Hollingsead told a homeowner he'd remodel his bathroom for $4,000.

Hollingsead cashed the check, then later asked the same homeowner to bail him out of jail so he could finish the job. The homeowner did, but police say Hollingsead never came back. He'll be in court next month.
