Hops becoming profitable crop

MIDWEST -- A new market is opening up in the Midwest which could be worth millions of dollars to local farmers. More and more breweries in Indiana and Michigan are popping up.

To keep up with the demand for hops, many farmers are growing the crop. The Hop Growers of America estimate farmers earned an average of $3.60 per pound last year, but some varieties can bring in three times that amount.
