URBANA -- One scoop of ice cream goes a long way. In this case, from food co-op to the food bank.

Common Ground Food Co-op hosted its Second Annual Ice Cream Social. For a small donation, guests could build their own ice cream sundaes.

They also had music, games and even face-painting. Proceeds went to the Eastern Illinois Food Bank.

Last year, about $900 was raised. Sunday, Common Ground surpassed its goal and raised $1,200. That's the equivalent of 2,590 meals.
