ILLINOIS -- A new study looks at how each state stacks up when it comes to emergency medical care. And the news isn't good for Illinois. We rank 45 out of 50.

The study reports Illinois isn't as prepared as it should be for disasters; there isn't enough access to emergency service and Illinois' medical liability laws don't give enough protection to doctors.

Experts say, even though the state got a bad grade, it doesn't mean you should stay away from the hospital. They add, if we don't start fixing the other problems, Illinois will lose its top doctors to other states.
