Illiopolis Man Dies In Motorcyle Crash

    The Sangamon County Coroner has released the name of the man killed while riding his motorcycle Sunday. 33-year old Thomas Harley, of Illiopolic, was prounounced dead after a pick-up truck hit his motorcycle at the intersection of Old Route 36 and Constant Street in Dawson.
    The accident is under investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled.

DAWSON - An Illiopolis man is dead after police say he was thrown from his motorcycle during a crash. It happened along Old Rt. 36 at Constant Street in Dawson. Police say a man driving a pickup truck came to a stop at the Rt. 36 intersection. Police say the driver claims to have looked both ways before pulling forward. Once he entered the intersection, police say the motorcycle driver ran into the truck's right fender. The impact threw him from the bike. The 33-year-old died later at a hospital. Police say he wasn't wearing a helmet. The pickup truck driver was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, failing to wear a seat belt, and no driver's license on person.
