ILLINOIS -- More people in the state are reporting identity theft. The Attorney General says reports of stolen identities are up 18% over last year.

In 2013, the AG's office received about 3,000 complaints. Officials blame data breaches for the increase. There were just 576 reported data breaches in 2013, up from just 33 in 2012.
