SPRINGFIELD -- Some kids with a record will soon be getting a clean slate. Governor Pat Quinn signed a new law Saturday clearing any arrests for non-violent juvenile crimes.

Juveniles will be cleared of crimes on their 18th birthday. Quinn and others in legislature believe these non-violent crimes on a minor's record can do damage to their futures. The law goes into effect January 1, 2015.
