The Effingham county 4-H youth ambassadors are starting a program to get unused medications out of the water supply. They're putting these disposal boxes all around town. You simply put the drugs in the boxes and the police take them to a place to have them burned. But this does more than just help water quality. It also keeps them out of the hands of teenagers. Be sure to put the name of the drug on the bottle if you drop it in one of these boxes. The students are also writing grants to try and get more of them. They have eight so far. If you know a kid who cares about his her community, email your idea to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are always looking for new stories.
