CHAMPAIGN -- Kindergarteners from area schools spent the day learning where their food comes from. About 900 of them attended Parkland College to see the animals and plants in person.

They stopped at different stations. At one, they learned about chickens as well as what they do and eat at the farm. Students say they had fun exploring the red barns. Other stations included pigs, cows and goats.

Students also learned about vegetables like pumpkins and corn. The event was organized by the college, Earth Partners and Champaign County Soil and Water.
