Kookaburra chick hatches at zoo

BLOOMINGTON -- Miller Park Zoo welcomed a new addition Friday. A kookaburra chick hatched April 8. It's the first kookaburra to be born at the zoo in its history.

The bird's call was made famous in jungle movies and is often referred to as a laugh. The baby is already a popular attraction. The chick's parents are also on display. They moved to the zoo's Australia exhibit in 2011.
