DECATUR -- Lake Decatur is on the rise after seeing some rain in the last two weeks, but the city is not in the clear just yet. Lake Decatur is one of the biggest victims of this year's drought.

Where boaters should be, there are now mud flats. The lake is still losing water every day. After some recent rains though, there is a glimmer of hope.

The lake measures 611.27', which is up almost a foot since the summer low on August 31. Mild temperatures plus some rain are helping fill the lake back up.

City leaders says it is a step in the right direction but not good enough. Officials will not lift any of the water bans put in place in early August until the lake gains about a foot and a half more water.
