SPRINGFIELD -- A state lawmaker from Decatur is pushing for concealed carry in Illinois, but only under certain conditions. If passed, you would not get in trouble for carrying a gun as long as you have a valid FOID card and approved firearm training.

It also protects carriers with a concealed carry permit from another state. Supporters say those with the right training should be allowed to keep their gun on them.

A similar bill failed in the House last year. Supporters say this version does not approve concealed carry, but gives people a defense if they are caught with a gun. Illinois is the only state that does not allow concealed carry.
