GIBSON CITY -- Town leaders are considering a change to downtown they hope will light the way for new business. Mayor Dan Dickey is proposing a $300,000 upgrade to street lights. He says the city needs new fixtures and LED lights would be cost-effective in the long-run.

The city is also considering colored lights to shine up at trees and light fixtures downtown which could be set to music. Mayor Dickey says the project will be discussed at the next city council meeting January 27. He hopes to have the new lights in place in the next few months.
