ILLINOIS -- Storms created plenty of lightning Saturday. The Emergency Management Agency wants to help protect people from being struck. Sunday starts Lightning Safety Awareness Week.

The IEMA says 70% of lightning strike deaths happen between June - August. They say, if you can't count to 30 between seeing the lightning and hearing the thunder, take shelter right away.
