Local economy growing

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- The local economy is growing. The annual Champaign County Economic Seminar was held Wednesday. Busey Bank Vice Chairman Ed Scharlau says Champaign County is one of the few in the Midwest which is expanding.

Seventeen major projects are under construction with an estimated total value of $115 million. In a three-year period, Champaign County grew by 1.9%. The average growth for the state was only .4%.
