Mail service back on track

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) -- Mail service is back on track for people living at Round Barn Manor. They went four days last week without getting their mail. It turns out, both sides were in the wrong.

A USPS spokesperson says they were not aware of the issue at the time, but it has since been addressed.

The communications representative for the area says both the property management company and the post office were in the wrong. They say it all stemmed from a missing key FOB.

They say, after it went missing, they had no way of getting into the building. Neither side would agree who was going to replace it.

The problem has been solved because the management company will be installing an outside box to allow postal workers to get into the building.

Residents say they're glad the headache has been taken care of, but they still hope delivery times improve. Residents got their mail Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

When asked about the delivery time concern, the communications rep says that should not be happening. He says customers are the priority and he's glad the issue was brought to his attention.
