Man arrested for hit-and-run theft

DECATUR -- Police say they found the man who hit a bicyclist then stole his cellphone. 41-year old Lashaun Peterson faces charges of theft and leaving the scene of an accident.

A man says Peterson hit him while he was riding his bike Sunday. The victim says Peterson took his phone when he tried to call police. The victim gave police the truck's license plate number which is how Peterson was found.

DECATUR -- A man riding his bike got hit with a double whammy. The 29-year old says he was riding his bike near West Packard and North Van Dyke streets when a man driving a truck crashed into him. The victim was hurt and, when he reached for his cellphone to call police, the driver took it and fled.
