URBANA -- Police are trying to find two men who robbed a UI student early Wednesday morning. Authorities say the student was walking after midnight when two men on bikes stopped him.
One asked to borrow his cellphone, the other hit him in the back of the head. Authorities say they took his phone and wallet.
UI police say more than 18-crimes like this have happened around campus since the semester started. Authorities say the victim in this case was on his way home after walking someone else home.
They say many robberies happen late at night. Police say the best advice is to make sure you're not walking alone.
Champaign police say they've also seen several attacks similar to this. At least four involved juveniles assaulting other people in the past few months. Some involved people on bikes.
Police have made some arrests, but they say there could be others which are going unreported on campus.
