SANGAMON COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) -- The name of a man killed after being hit by a train has been released.
Chief Deputy Coroner Jim Allmon says 33-year old James Blythe, of Springfield, was pronounced dead about 10:40 pm, Tuesday, at the scene near South 2nd and Oak streets, on the 3rd Street railroad tracks.
An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday. The accident is under investigation.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) -- One man is dead after being hit by an Amtrack train.
Police say the train was headed southbound out of the station just before 9 pm, Tuesday, when it hit the man at the corner of 3rd & Oak Street.
Railroad authorities and police searched the wreckage for about an hour and a half before an engineer declared the tracks safe for passage.
The coroner declared the victim dead upon impact. Detectives working the scene believe it could've been a suicide, but nothing has been confirmed.
Police say they should ID the victim Wednesday morning. The crash is under investigation.
