CHAMPAIGN-URBANA -- The pair in charge of the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon are up for a big honor. Jan Seeley and marathon co-director, Mike Lindeman, are up for the "Lincoln Award." It's given out by the state's Office of Tourism.

Seeley says she got the call from the CEO of Visit Champaign County and couldn't believe what she heard. This will be the sixth year of the marathon.

Seeley says 2,000 people have signed up in the last week, bringing the total up to about 10,000 so far. She says they wouldn't be able to put on the event without support from the community and volunteers.
