CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- The Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon has reached a new milestone in its effort to raise money for local charities. The annual race raised nearly $300,000 for about 30 different charities in the Champaign-Urbana area.

People involved in the race say it's more than $100,000 more than last year and the largest increase the race has seen since its inception six years ago.

The race benefits organizations including the Developmental Service Center which provides assistance to children and adults with developmental disabilities.
