CHAMPAIGN -- Police are getting extra help watching out for runners and spectators at the Illinois Marathon. Frank Pagel is their "eye in the sky." He helps police get a bird's eye view from his helicopter.

He makes his living spraying crops, but come marathon weekend, he and an officer fly over the course to watch traffic and help direct emergency personnel. Organizers pay him just enough for fuel. He donates his time during the race.
