CHAMPAIGN -- The Marching Illini will have a new place to practice tunes. Space on the corner of Gregory and First streets will soon be redone for band practice. Artificial turf will be installed.

It's the first time in more than 100-years the Marching Illini will have their own place to play. They've always just moved around to get in some practice time.

The space will also be used for intramural sports during the band's off-season. It's supposed to be finished by August.
