Marshals arrest wanted couple

CICERO -- Tuesday afternoon, U.S. Marshals arrested a couple for weapons warrants out of Champaign. Allen Williams and Laine Hopkins, both 21, were wanted for an incident June 26, at Hawthorne Suites, in the 100-block of Trade Center Drive.

Police were called to remove occupants who were reportedly doing illegal drugs in their room. Hopkins left before police arrived and Williams took off on foot while police were on the scene. A search of the room uncovered four handguns, two of which were reported stolen, ammunition and a small amount of marijuana.

Williams faces a class 3 felony for a felon in possession of a firearm. Hopkins faces a class 2 felony for possession of a stolen firearm. In May, Williams was named one of Champaign County's Most Wanted fugitives.
