URBANA -- City leaders could see a change in salaries next year. Mayor Laurel Prussing wants to cut raises for elected officials.

Usually, they see a 3% increase annually. But, Prussing says the city can't afford that. She's asking city leaders to go without a raise in the first year, then opt for a 1% increase in year 2, and a 2% raise in years three and four.

The proposal goes before council members in November.
