CHAMPAIGN -- It was 70 years ago was a day one area World War II veteran still remembers. 89-year old Bill Anderson was an Army gunner. The first day he saw action was on the Sands of Normandy on D-Day.

He doesn't like to talk about what happened, but says he'll never forget it. Anderson was able to visit Normandy on the 60th anniversary of D-Day. He wanted to go this year, but hip problems make it tough for him to get around.
