SPRINGFIELD -- Poverty is also a topic in state politics. The minimum wage issue is getting some attention in this year's governor's race.

Governor Quinn wants to raise the rate to $10/hour. Now, Republican candidate Bruce Rauner, says he wants to reduce Illinois' minimum wage from $8.25 to $7.25.

That would put it in line with the federal wage. Democrats call the idea "class warfare." Rauner says it will encourage economic growth in the state.
