Motorcycle & car collide

URBANA -- The motorcycle driver who was hit by a car has died. 27-year old Thomas Burk was pronounced dead about 12:20 pm, Thursday.

Burk was riding his motorcycle when he was hit by a car Wednesday at Interstate and Boardwalk. No autopsy will be performed. An inquest may be held at a later date.

Police and the coroner's office will continue to investigate the accident. 82-year old Donald Noonan, the driver of the car, was ticketed for running a stop sign.

CHAMPAIGN -- Police say a driver ran a stop sign causing an accident Wednesday. 27-year old Thomas Burk suffered life-threatening injuries. He was riding a motorcycle near Interstate and Boardwalk when he was hit by a car.

The bike was destroyed. Burk is still hospitalized; his condition is not known. The driver of the car, 82-year old Donald Noonan, was cited for running a stop sign.

CHAMPAIGN -- One person was sent to the hospital after a car and motorcycle collided. It happened Wednesday near Interstate and Boardwalk. Surrounding roads were closed for an hour.

The motorcycle was a total loss. That driver was taken to the hospital. No word on the condition of the driver of the car.
