Motorcycle crash lands driver in jail; passenger in hospital

DECATUR -- A woman thrown from a motorcycle Monday morning is in critical condition. It happened on South Franklin Street.

A 22-year old was driving the motorcycle and sped up as police tried to make a traffic stop. The driver lost control, wrecked and had minor injuries.

He was booked on felony charges. The names of the driver and passenger have not yet been released.

DECATUR -- A 22-year old is facing felony charges after crashing his motorcycle Sunday morning. It happened in the 1100-block of South Franklin Street.

Macon County Sheriff's deputies tried to stop the motorcycle, but they say the driver sped up, lost control and his passenger was thrown off. She was taken to the hospital. No word on her condition.

DECATUR -- A motorcycle accident sends the driver to jail and his passenger to the hospital. It happened in the 1100 block of south Franklin Street just before 2:00 am Sunday.

A Macon County deputy tried to stop the motorcycle, but investigators say the 22-year old driver sped up instead. That's when they say he lost control and his passenger was thrown off the motorcycle.

The 49-year old woman was taken to the hospital. The driver faces several felony charges.
