Motorcyclist killed in early morning accident

WAVERLY -- The Illinois State Police released the name of an Auburn man killed in a single motorcycle accident Monday morning. Authorities say 47-year old Timothy Hanson was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle which left the roadway and struck a culvert on Route 104, east of Vandalia Street around 5 am.

After striking the culvert, the bike went airborne and Mr. Hanson landed in a field. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating.

WAVERLY -- One man was killed in a single motorcycle accident. It happened just after 5:00 am Monday on Route 104, just east of Vandalia Street.

Authorities say the 47-year old was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle which left the roadway and struck a culvert. The bike went airborne and the rider landed in a field.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until family has been notified.
