They're passing a petition trying to stop CUMTD from adding the subdivision. They say they don't want or need bus service here.
Neighbors say there are 66 homes in the subdivision. 59 residents have signed the petition saying they don't want to be annexed into CUMTD's service area. The change means neighbors will have to pay more in property taxes, but one woman says that's not the issue.
The increase in taxes wouldn't kick in until spring 2015. CUMTD says adding the neighborhood is part of its long-term plan to expand service. It wants to make sure people all over the city have the access they need.
