DIXON -- A northern Illinois town could get a $40 million settlement. Former Comptroller, Rita Crundwell, embezzled more than $50 million from the city over the course of two decades.

Now the city is set to receive $40 million in a legal settlement with a bank and auditor. They are accused of not doing enough to expose the theft.

Crundwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence. The city is still trying to figure out what to do with the money.
