RANTOUL -- A firefighter is recovering after being hurt during an early morning fire. It happened at Cross Construction, near the intersection of Route 45 and Chandler Road.
The firefighter fell on his arm while battling the blaze this morning. It caused him to strain some muscles in his shoulder. He went to the emergency room and is going to be okay. The doctor says rest and ice will do the trick.
It was pretty good news all around for firefighters who were called out Thursday morning. The fire was at this construction site which is filled with oils and chemicals. Luckily none of that caught fire, only part of the building and tanks. Authorities say it could have been much worse.
About eight departments responded to the blaze. Ameren was called in to shut off power. Investigators are still trying to determine a cause.

One firefighter fell and hurt his shoulder while fighting the flames. Otherwise, everyone is okay. Multiple crews responded and were able to bring it under control. They include Thomasboro, Gifford, Sangamon Valley, Ludlow, Paxton, Cornbelt and Ogden.
