CHAMPAIGN -- A man will spend 60-years in prison for first degree murder. 36-year old Jermaine Davis was convicted in February in the beating death of Russell Stokes.
Prosecutors say Davis beat Stokes after finding him having sex with his ex-girlfriend. That assault took place in the 300-block of E. Park in September.
Stokes died the day after the fight. Davis claimed self-defense in his trial, but the jury rejected that argument.
