DECATUR -- People in one neighborhood say they've seen kids being abused at a nearby daycare. Now, they're doing what they can to keep the kids safe.

People say the owner neglects the kids and does drugs when they're around. She runs an at-home daycare in the 3700-block of Meadowlark.

One neighbor says she got some of the abuse on tape and turned it over to police and DCFS. She says the video shows the owner smoking marijuana near the kids and leaving them alone outside for long periods of time.

DCFS says it suspended the license of Pamela Freeman and closed her daycare Thursday. She watched almost ten kids everyday.

Neighbors say they saw Freeman drop an infant from the porch to a man standing below. They recorded Freeman and the kids from a nearby home for an afternoon, then handed the tape to authorities.

DCFS says an investigation could take up to 60-days and Freeman won't get her license back until she's cleared by them. She's currently not facing any charges.

In a phone interview, Freeman says she did nothing wrong and once the investigation is complete, "her truth will prevail."

DCFS says if you see any abuse, contact them immediately.
